Thanks & Apologies

As many of you have probably heard by now via my family's blog, my cousin passed away early Wednesday morning. I already had Wednesday's blogtober post scheduled the day before so that posted  on its own but I just haven't had the heart to write anything since then. There's something that losing a loved one does to your heart---makes you want to curl up in a corner and cry and just forget about everything else. Blogging is the last thing on my mind right now. I will be back eventually...just need to take a little break for now.

Thank-you SO much to everyone who has emailed, called, texted, or commented to let me and my family know that you are praying. I haven't been able to respond to everyone so just wanted to say here that we are everlastingly grateful and thank-you from the bottom of our hearts.

I also want to thank all those of you who have emailed about other things (Blogtober related questions/ideas and also personal questions) over the past several months. There has been so much going on in my life with family + work and I am so behind on emails. I just answered one the other day that was sent to me way back in April. Please accept my apologies; I do my best to respond to every email but it often takes a while. Please know that your emails are read and appreciated and that they will be responded to eventually!

Please be in prayer specifically for Michael's family right now. They are going through so much.
My family and I are heading from Orlando (the National Bible Bee) up to NY tomorrow night-we have a long drive to make it to the funeral by Sunday. Your prayers for safety and alertness for our bus drivers is so appreciated.

Love you all.

  1. Dear Chelsy, I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. I had been following the updates and praying that he would be healed. I'll be praying for his family and yours. That must be so difficult. ♥

  2. I'll be praying for you Chels...I am so sorry for the pain that you all are going through.

    Love in Jesus,

  3. I lost my Granddad just over a month ago; his story and your cousin's are so similar it's scary. But I do understand your grief in losing a close family member. I'll be praying for your family!

  4. Our hearts and prayers are with ya'll...may you feel the Lord's embrace and his everlasting arms in the coming days. =) love ya'll.

  7. Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I know exactly what you`re going through with losing a cousin.......4 years ago one of my cousins who lived in CO, drowned. It was so very unexpected and hard on us all. But it was precious and healing to spend time with family during the time of the funeral... God can heal bleeding hearts...

  8. Chelsy- I just want to let you (as well as your family know) that we are so sorry for your loss of Michael. We are praying for you all, as well as Michael's family and all of your other family members. We think often of all of you and are daily lifting everyone in prayer. I know our family was praying for Michael since day one that we found out. We've known for a while; your cousin has been forwarding our family the email updates, so we were able to pray for him more. Our family shed tears over Michael's passing, yet, as you said that Allison said on your family's blog, Michael is in the biggest celebration ever- he will always be there and you can take joy in knowing you will see him again one day and be with him there, celebrating forever! What a comforting thought for us it was that Michael is Home- he is home with the Lord! I am almost in tears, just thinking about that!

And please- do not worry about being behind in posting on your blog- I know that you probably do not feel like doing that right now.

And about Nationals- tell all of your siblings a HUGE congratulations! We were blessed to be able to watch all the semi-finals and finals online, live. The entire time I was continually lifting them, as well as the others, up in prayer! And a special congratulations to your brothers who made it in semi-finals and finals! We were so blessed by the passion that they spoke their passages with. Amazing! What a gift!!! When we were watching Joshua compete in finals today, even my little seven year old brother, Gage, in a very serious tone, was saying, "Wow- he says his like a pastor!" We all thought the same! And that was so sweet how Taylor gave Denver a hug at the end of semi-finals!:) We loved it! We were, once again, very blessed by the way they said their passages, and their good sportsmanship was one that we greatly admired. May Jesus continue to be glorified and shine so clearly in and through them, as well as the rest of your family!

We are continuing to lift you all up in our prayers, and will be praying as you travel.

I am sorry if my comment got a little long.:)

    1. I've wanted to comment sooner, but life has been busy! Your family has been in my prayers. 3 years ago I dealt with a sudden, heart breaking death of a sweet friend. Her parents are still struggling.

My sister said the same thing about Joshua!! Your siblings did amazing at Nationals!! I loved watching them!

  9. So sorry to hear of your family's loss. I'll be praying for God's peace and love to comfort you all and for safe travels.

  10. I am truly sorry for your families loss.

I kept a few note cards in my skirt pocket the whole time my Dad was in hospice this June....

For thou wilt light my candle, the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
    ~Psalm 18:28

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?
    ~John 11:25-26

Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits... Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love & compassion.
    ~Psalm 103:2-4

Through all my grief and pain, it gave me comfort.I hope the same comes to you and your family.

Sending love and prayers to your family.

  11. Hi Chelsy,

Just wanted to let you know that I am thinking and praying for you and your family during this trial. I hope God wraps His arms around you every moment of the days to come.

  12. Chelsy -
Praying for our Savior's comfort to be ever present and His never ending peace to just surround you all right now.

Also, my sister mentioned that Allison's retreat was this week. Praying that the Lord will use it to do great things for HIM! Just wished we lived a little closer so I could attend!

    Walking w/ Him,

  13. I totally understand about the blogging break - take as much time as you need. <3 Praying for you, friend.
