Our Wedding, Part Two || The First Look

Photographers will tell you, brides will tell you, I will tell you...do a first look. on your wedding day!  Unless you don't want to, of course! (ha!) But if you're on the fence about it anyways, I'd have to say that I definitely recommend it. I loved having these couple of minutes with my man right at the start of our day. It was a very precious moment, when we saw each other for the first time the morning of our wedding.
This is one of my favorites---I was seriously just SO EXCITED and it was such a beautiful moment.
He gave me a rose...
We'd read the Psalms together, counting backwards, during our engagement. We got the idea from several other engaged couples who had done it and I loved the fun way of counting down + seeing the days get "smaller", while spending time in the Word together!
This was the last one, Psalms 1, at our first look to start out our wedding day!

Have a blessed Monday!

I was just wondering though, why did John have his wedding band on? I thought this was before the ceremony

    1. Yes, it was before the ceremony-we just both wanted to have our rings on for all of our pictures! So since we did most of our pictures before the ceremony, we wore our rings then and took them off right before the ceremony began.

  3. Gorgeous photos! You both look so radiantly happy.
Did you both start wearing your wedding bands before the wedding?
May you always be as joyful as you were on this day.

    1. We only wore them for pictures beforehand, since we wanted them to be in all of the pictures.

    2. Thanks for answering me. That makes sense to me. They really are gorgeous photos. You did a beautiful job in making your dress. I would have been way too intimidated to take on a task like that.
It’s so good to see you blogging so regularly again. I hope you keep it up.

  4. These were adorably sweet, Chels! I think numbers 8 and 12 are my definite favorites! Aww, a rose...Psalms is my number one favorite book of the Bible! The last picture is so lovely of your dress flowing and spread out.

  6. Lovely pics!!! But WHY the bare feet? I am guessing that it was a girlhood dream of yours to be a barefoot bride; so you fulfilled your dream, in spite of the time of year? I can see barefoot at home, or outdoors in summer, but in a public building? Just seems kind of...yucky.

    1. Yes, I really hardly ever thought about my wedding at all, growing up, but the one thing I knew was that I wanted to be a barefoot bride! I always thought that if I got married in the summer I would get married on my family's farm and just naturally be barefoot. But we didn't want to wait til summer to get married (smile) and I decided that just because it wouldn't be the "normal or correct" thing to do to be barefoot inside a church in the middle of winter, didn't mean I couldn't do it. =)
And it was my wedding, so I got to choose whatever I wanted for it, and that's what I wanted.
