As the date to our wedding drew nearer and we were able to get a pretty accurate description of the weather we'd have, we realized that having all of our couple + bridal party portraits outdoors, like I'd originally wanted, was just not going to be an option. So we took our bridal party + family pictures inside the church, prior to the ceremony, but we needed somewhere else, somewhere unique, where we could go for our "just us" pictures while all of our guests were being dismissed and moving to the reception venue.
As I began to consider indoor homes/buildings in Washington, I thought of a dear friend from church who owns this gorgeous old house just a few blocks from my church. When we asked him about using it, he willingly agreed, and so we went there directly following the ceremony.
One of my absolute favorites!
Next we went to the city park (again, just a block down from the church) to get a few pictures there...
(Note: just four months early, Mitchell + Bryn had their wedding reception in this same park! It looked a little different then...=))
I bought this shawl specifically to use during any outdoor pictures. It matched my teal blue theme color perfectly and I loved having that pop of color for the outdoor pictures.
And lastly, we took these in a field along the highway on the way to the reception venue.
Yes I was barefoot, yes it was freezing, and yes I choose all that.
And nope, I didn't get sick. #farmgirltough
And those are a few of my favorite shots from our wedding couple portraits!

I'm so sorry you weren't able to take pictures outside as you had hoped to but the ones that you did get in the winter wonderland are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWe were concerned about having either rain or it being blazing hot out since April in South Texas can be all over the map but thankfully it was perfect except for some wind (and it being a bit cold for the native South Texans ;).
These are SO great Chelsy!!! Loved them! Thanks for sharing! The last couple, in the snow, made me smile! What did John think of his new wife being barefoot? Hahahaha
ReplyDeleteHe loved it. =)

Hey, Chelsy! I have loved reading your blog and keeping up with your family. I actually happened to have met your husband several years ago when we hosted a conference for their family. :) If I may ask... I was wondering where those beautiful pictures were taken in that Victorian house? Did you get married in Washington state?
ReplyDeleteAnyways, thank you so very much for your lovely blog. It has blessed me so much!
