Our Baby Has Arrived!

We are thrilled to announce that we have a son! Axton John Maxwell was born at 11:15pm Saturday night, January 26! He weighed in at 7lbs 5oz and was 20inch long. He is charming as can be with dimples, dark hair, deep blue eyes, and long fingers! We are so blessed and grateful! I am doing great and recovering well. Thank you for everyone who was praying for us. The Lord answered our prayers and gave us a healthy little man! His birth  was very traumatic and didn’t go as planned whatsoever! (I will share more in the coming days) But we had amazing teams helping us, both during my 24hr labor at home and then at our final unexpected hospital delivery. It was so perfect how the Lord gave me strength each moment I needed it. My husband was a ROCK and I could not have done it without him either!
Anyways! That is the short story-most of all we are just overjoyed at the arrival of our handsome little man! Thanks again for all your well-wishes and support!

If I have this right, his birthday is just a couple of weeks after your husband's, and just a couple of days before yours, right? January is going to be such a fun month for you guys!

  19. Welcome to the world Baby Axton, and congratulations to you all!
Chelsy, I hope you get lots of rest and help, and that you heal quickly. Please give yourself time to heal before you take on too much.
I also intended to birth my child at home, and spent a couple of days laboring at home before a sudden change in circumstances sent us to the hospital. It wasn’t what I had wanted, but more than anything, I wanted a healthy baby, and that’s what I got. It was worth having the experience I did for the outcome I received, and I imagine you feel that way too.
A birth is important, but as your child grows, and progresses through the many milestones ahead of him, that importance will fade. What really matters is that he’s here, regardless of what his arrival involved.
You are a superhero, and you just accomplished something monumental. May your beautiful child have a lifetime of health, love, and happiness.

  33. Dear Chelsy,
is everything allright or is it that you're just taking a break? Have you left the blog for good?

    1. Hey, thanks for checking in! No, I haven't left for good; just a temporary lapse! Being a mama takes a lot of time and I'm having waaaay too much fun at it!
      I'll be back! =)

    2. It is fun being and busy being a mama, though newborns sleep copious amounts in a day. but it's a real letdown that a story can't be written and shared in a 3-month period of time. Once a story is started, we like to hear the ending!

    3. Diana,
It definitely could be shared earlier, except that I just haven't shared it yet!
Feel free to unfollow if you don't want to wait longer. =)
