Our Baby is Here 💕

I definitely never thought that the next blog post I would be writing would be to announce the birth of our baby, but here I am today to tell you that our daughter is here. 💕

Madeline Sue Maxwell arrived yesterday morning (July 9th) at 2:06am, at the same hospital where Axton was born. She was 30weeks along and is fragile and tiny—3lbs 7oz. There is no explanation at this point as to why she decided to arrive early. Her birth story is a long one (I am writing it out now and will be posting all about it very soon) and there are still many unknowns and questions, but we are just thankful for safety and God’s hand of protection over all of us. We are all doing well now but had some very scary hours right before and after the birth.

Likely, we are in for a very long NICU stay. Of course we can’t know for sure but we have been told to expect that she will be here until her due date which was the middle of September. At this point there are many unknowns/things to work out, but I just wanted to take a minute to at least let you all know the news of Madeline’s safe arrival, and to also ask for you to join us in prayer for the many decisions and details of the days and weeks ahead of us. We have never walked this road before and to be completely honest there are definitely many moments of fears and questions. My heart is so grateful though to know that our God is walking with us and that He knows each bend ahead! His promises are always true and faithful and we are so thankful for the miracles He already is working! He is faithful and is holding our hands and we praise Him for His goodness and provision to our little family. ❤️

-Chelsy, for our little family 😍

  1. Oh Chelsy God's creation is so beautiful but frightfully complex! I am praying so hard for your beautiful daughter, who it seems couldn't wait to join your family! You have been a beacon of light in my journey to live a more Christ-centered life and have a marriage that prioritizes our Lord. What a beautiful and blessed baby you have - I can't wait for your boys to see their sister. Know that our little family holds up yours up in prayer and prays to see God's grace extended over you all. With lots of love.

  7. Congratulations! Children are such a blessing!

My husband and I just had our first on the 4th of July, and our little boy is in the NICU as well.
Praying for you as you go through this time. It's not easy, but one thing I that has encouraged me is knowing that the Lord is in control. We have hope in Him! He cares about every little life!

  13. My twin nieces were born at 29 weeks and both very sick. One did very well and was home in 6 weeks. The other was in the NICU for 217 days because of some early set backs. Thank God, they are now happy and healthy 5 year olds and you would never know their tough start. God bless all of you.

  15. Congratulations on the birth of your very precious little Madeline. Since I first heard the news I have been praying for her, and for both of you, as you travel these next weeks. I just yesterday wrote a blog about tough trust. "God often takes the most tender places of hurt in our hearts to teach us how to toughly trust in Him." May you rest in that trust each day.
